1011222_174852469350755_585060193_n-150x150Mi nombre es Stefan Rivera y soy miembro de la Comunidad del Lente, un grupo que intenta crear una convivencia de personas, centralizados pero no limitados a la zona occidental de El Salvador, amantes de la fotografía como arte o medio de expresión.

Este año decidimos organizar el photowalk anual en el bello país vecino Guatemala, así que junto a un grupo de miembros de la Comunidad del Lente y otros amigos fotógrafos de El Salvador esperamos estar compartiendo ésta magnifica experiencia con todos los que quieran acompañarnos.

La idea es captar la belleza que encierra Guatemala y en Antigua podemos encontrar de todo concentrado en un pequeño punto geográfico: Cultura, historia, su gente… y todo puede recorrerse caminando por esas calles empedradas que te transportan a su historia, lo que lo hace un lugar perfecto para lo que buscamos! Sin lugar a duda, Antigua es un lugar mágico que si lo visitas, de seguro vuelves!

Si no conoces Antigua, ésta es una excelente oportunidad… y si ya has estado ahí el reto se vuelve mas interesante y te invito que afines tu ojo para encontrar la belleza que muchas veces puede pasar desapercibida, estoy seguro que podrás encontrarla dondequiera que caminemos!

Comenzaremos nuestro recorrido desde el Arco caminando hacia el norte hasta llegar al parque e Iglesia de la Merced, luego rumbo al oriente por el museo de las Capuchinas, también pasaremos por el museo y hotel Santo Domingo. Llegaremos al parque o plaza central para admirar los portales y la arquitectura de su catedral, seguiremos rumbo al sur hasta llegar al tanque de la unión y los lavaderos públicos, retornando hacia el parque central para terminar nuestro recorrido y reunirnos en el Café Condesa a un lado del parque para que podamos compartir experiencias acompañados de un buen café!

El photowalk es siempre gratuito, pero para los interesados esperamos contar con camisetas alusivas al evento y el respectivo carné identificativo, La camiseta es opcional y tiene un costo que posteriormente les estaré haciendo saber para los que la deseen puedan hacer el pago respectivo con tiempo.

Photo Walk Description

1011222_174852469350755_585060193_n-150x150My name is Stefan Rivera and I’m a member of the community of the lens, trying to create a group of photography enthusiasts as art and/or means of personal expression for a unique photographic adventure.

This year we decided to organize the annual Photowalk in the beautiful neighboring Guatemala, so with a group of community members and other friends of the lens photographers from El Salvador expect to be sharing this wonderful experience with all who join us.

The idea for this walk is to capture the beauty that Guatemala and Antigua can find all concentrated in a small geographical point: Culture, history, people … all can be walked by those cobbled streets transport you to his story, which makes a perfect location for what we wantUndoubtedly, Antigua is a magical place if you visit, you’re sure to come back!

If you do not know Antigua, this is an excellent opportunity … and if you‘ve been there the challenge becomes more interesting and invite you related your eye for beauty that can often go unnoticed, I’m sure you can find it anywhere to walk!

We begin our journey from the Arc Walk north to the park and Church of la Merced, then head east through the museum of the Capuchins, also pass through the museum and Santo Domingo hotel.  We arrive at the park  (central plaza) to admire the architecture of portals and its cathedral then continue heading south towards public wash and returning to the central park to finish our tour at Cafe Condesa meet at the side of the park so we can share experiences along with a good coffee!

The Photowalk is always free, but for those interested and look forward to the event and the respective identification card shirts, T-shirt is optional and costs later will be letting them know for those who want it can make the respective payment on time.  Photography and Art Professor Patrick Keough will be the judge for the photographs taken during the Photo Walk.
